LAAn Chili Cook-Off: Community Service in Action

Posted By: Jamie Hinojosa Community,

Yesterday we did something we haven't done before—we brought together the most chili teams we've ever had at the Dream Center, and they showed up ready to compete.

The Lubbock Apartment Association Chili Cook-Off isn't just about the food, though yesterday's chili was genuinely excellent. It's a community service event. The funds we raise go directly to filling the freezers at the Legacy Home for Women. That's the real point.

Our biggest Chili Cook-Off yet—and it all goes to the Legacy Home for Women.
Yesterday at the Dream Center, we crowned our winners:
People's Choice: Stellar Development (1st), Stellar Management (2nd), Comfort Masters (3rd)
Judges' Stellar Communities (1st), Grassano (2nd), PJ Catering (3rd)

honors, Grassano took second, and Minix finished third. The competition was real, and the talent in this room was strong.

We want to thank every team who registered and cooked. You brought skill, effort, and heart to every pot—and you helped us support women in our community who need it.

None of this happens without our sponsors stepping up. Redbird Water, Tigris Construction, and Reliant Energy—you made this event possible. Your support goes straight to families who depend on the Legacy Home.

To every volunteer and member who showed up to help run things, set up, judge, or just be there—thank you. You're the backbone of what we do, and what we give back.

Triple G brought those bacon-wrapped hot dogs, and they were delicious. That's the kind of partnership that makes an event feel like more than just business—it feels like community in action.

And to our judges who took on the hard work of tasting and scoring—we appreciate your time and your service.

What stands out most is the turnout. We had more teams registered than ever before. That's not an accident. That's people believing in what we're building together here in Lubbock—and believing in taking care of our own.

Thank you for making yesterday what it was. Together, we're making a real difference. See photos here.
