Join LAA for our November Membership Luncheon! 

Guest speaker will be from the Texas Girls and Boys Ranch. They have been the organization LAA & our members have supported throughout the year. 

We will also be electing our 2024 Board of Directors and approving a proposed bylaws change. 

Date: November 30th

Time: 11:45 am - 1:00, buffet line will open at 11:30

Location: CentrePointe Event Center (between Days Inn and Comfort Suites) 4925 Marsha Sharp Fwy W, Lubbock, TX 79407

As outlined in the LAA Bylaws, the Nominating Committee brings forth the following for nomination to fill 3 positions on the Board of Directors: 

Ashley Settle, Quext
Ian Van Reenen, JTI Properties
Stacy Cain, Apartments.com 
As stated in Article 5 of the bylaws: "additional nominations from the membership must be submitted in writing five (5) days before the November meeting to be placed on the ballot and to be eligible for election.  Other nominations will not be considered after that date."

There is 1 vote per member.  A member is a property, Independent Rental Owner, or Product Service member, approved by the Board and in good standing. 

Bylaws Proposal: 

Current, Community Service Committee definition in the bylaws

 This committee’s responsibility is to make recommendations to the Board for all community service events while keeping the goals and objectives of the Association in the forefront.

 Proposed bylaws change:

 Community Service Committee

 The purpose of this committee is to evaluate and implement, under the guidance of the Board of Directors all community service opportunities while keeping the budget, mission, and vision of the association in the forefront.  Further, it is to encourage participation in local events; to aid in the growth of new members to the association; to provide active support for the association.

Current, Education Committee definition in the bylaws

 This committee’s responsibility is to make recommendations to the Board for all educational functions of the Association, including training programs and workshops.

 Proposed bylaws change:

 Education Committee

 The purpose of this committee is to evaluate and implement, under the guidance of the Board of Directors all educational opportunities while keeping the budget, mission, and vision of the Association in the forefront.  Further, it is to encourage participation in local events; to aid in the growth of new members to the association; to provide active support for the association.

Current, Associate committee definition in the bylaws

 The function of this committee shall be to provide a voice for Associate members. The purpose of such committee shall be: To encourage participation in local, state, and national program, seminars, and conventions which are supported by the Association; to aid in the solicitation of new members for the Association; to provide active support for the Association through publicity, exhibits, trade shows, and other activities as determined by the council. It shall have no authority to obligate the Association in any manner, except when specifically authorized by the Board. The Associate Committee shall consist of a Chairperson and all Associate members which are in good standing with the Association.

 Proposed bylaws change:

 Supplier Partner

 The purpose of this committee is to create added value for the Supplier Partner members.  By cultivating relationships, providing resources, and encouraging participation in local events. Aiding in the growth of new members to the association; provide active support for the association all while keeping the budget, mission, and vision of the association in the forefront.
