The Mold Information and Prevention Addendum is a required part of the lease agreement and outlines the shared responsibilities of both the resident and property owner in preventing mold-related issues. This addendum includes:

  • Guidance on how to recognize signs of mold or moisture buildup

  • Instructions on cleaning small mold spots on nonporous surfaces

  • Rules for reporting water leaks, AC or heating problems, and visible mold

  • Safety precautions for when not to attempt cleaning yourself

  • Your obligations under Texas Property Code for mold and habitability concerns
